Exploring Dance Education

2025 Senior Exhibit

This exhibit was created out of a deep love for dance and an even deeper passion for teaching it. As someone who has danced since I was three, I’ve spent much of my life not just performing, but helping others discover the joy and creativity that dance can bring. Over the years, especially in my experience teaching young dancers, I’ve seen how powerful movement can be in building confidence, focus, and self-expression.

After returning to teaching post-pandemic, I noticed a significant shift in how many children were engaging with learning. Some were more hesitant, more reserved, or needed additional support and structure to feel safe exploring dance. I realized that traditional teaching methods alone weren’t always enough to meet these new needs.

This exhibit grew from that realization. It’s designed to present dance in a more accessible, supportive, and self-guided way, especially for young learners. Through tools like illustrated step guides, physical foot markers, and interactive visuals, the space encourages children to explore movement on their own terms. Everything is approachable, playful, and pressure-free, because dance should feel like joy, not judgment. At its core, this exhibit is about inclusion, empowerment, and helping young dancers feel seen and successful in the studio space.
